I am Petra, a self-taught artist from Naantali, Finland. I create abstract alcohol ink art. Creativity has always been a significant part of my identity, but beyond that, I am also a dog mom, an avid viewer of nature documentaries, a sensitive dreamer, and someone who cherishes peace and quiet, having grown up in the countryside.

My artistic journey began in childhood, when my room was filled with colored pencils and sketchbooks. My mother often recalls how, every morning before heading to daycare, I would proudly present my latest drawing. As a teenager, dance and photography became my primary forms of self-expression. I dreamed of becoming an artist for many years, but eventually chose to study landscape architecture. During my university studies, I also completed basic studies in art, which awakened my inner artist once again.

I fell in love with alcohol inks because of the contrasts, textures, and freedom they create. What fascinates me most is the opportunity to let go of control and careful planning. When I paint, I allow the movement of the ink to guide the creative process—as if the artwork is creating itself. My role is simply to enjoy the moment and explore the evolving shapes, color combinations, and contrasts. Each piece is a unique journey of discovery, often leading to destinations that surprise even me.
